Well, some moron created a blog on SmashBoards that was introductory. They also basically just advertised their AllisBrawl page. Cinder replied to it saying something about how he was guilty of advertising as well...you know what, I'll just link you to the thread.

Anyways, so since the thread got locked Cinder replied to me and talked to me about the new rules (as of two days ago). Yeah, well...here's my reaction.
Wait, what?!
Holy crap! These rules are so much more strict! I can't believe you get two points for advertising a site in your signature! What the hell!?
Ugh, I'm all of a sudden regretting MLG buying out SmashBoards so much more...I mean, Christ, how hypocritical that is with them plastering the Revolution theme with their own goddamn ads!
Why did MLG even buy SmashBoards? Brawl isn't in their '09 circuit. Melee's not coming back. My money's on them buying out SmashBoards just so they could advertise their crap and get us to give them money. How much you want to bet?
It's all they've done so far. MLG_JV has very few posts and so far has done nothing but talk of how SmashBoards isn't going to change at all with its new ownership from what I can tell, when he's actually said something.
Like, what the fuck?
Oh, and apparently, if something's off-topic it's spam.
So I've got a Custom Pokemon Shop here, and we frequently go off-topic. We're trying to fix that recently, but still. Classifying spam and off-topic posts under the same category is quite stupid. I'm not saying a thread about Brawl+ should be able to turn into stuffed animals and why people shouldn't burn them (I totally pulled that one out of nowhere, but it works), but spam and off-topic posts are COMPLETELY different things.
Oh, but the best part is this.
So does that mean that discussion of drugs and alcohol in the Debate Hall is also disallowed? Those sort of topics are the most interesting there, instead of the constant crap about religion which is just stupid, especially since religion is impossible to even prove.
But MLG_JV doesn't specify. From what I can tell, that means the banning of all discussion of that sort. Thanks, dumbass, for treating us all like five-year-olds. I'm all for keeping it friendly for younger audiences, but I don't see how this makes sense.
On the bright side, maybe the mods will see the rules as being as stupid as I do and be lenient on enforcing the new ones. Not like JV is around enough to actually notice.
The thing that annoys me the most is that MLG has done N O T H I N G to help SmashBoards, and they've just advertised like hell. Now they're being hypocritical morons and telling us we can't even advertise in sigs.
