Aight, I've seen the Blog forum on Smashboards devolve into a cesspool of spam, and I'm not gonna let that happen here...so before I give my helpful tips (some of which do come from Smashboards...thanks KiKi, even though you have no idea I'm doing this :B), I'd like to make one thing damn clear...just because there's no post count does NOT mean you can spam here...any thread deemed spam will be moved to the spam room, and intro threads (it's bound to happen unless I address it) will be moved to the Intro forum...after I give my guidelines, I'll post some of Smashboards's worse threads to show what NOT to do...but here are some fun guidelines...you don't have to follow these, but they can help improve your blogging skills...
But hey, I'm not gonna sit here and talk your ears off...I'll leave it at that for now...I'll edit this with good examples of what NOT to do from the Smashboars blog forum...
- Come up with a snazzy title - your fellow members are gonna want to read something that interests them...come up with something clever and catchy to hook their attention...no one's gonna wanna read "My Blog" (well, they might, but it's not as interesting-sounding)...
- Write about something you feel passionate about or know a lot about - no one's gonna want to read your blog if you just ramble on about stuff without putting a little "oomph" into it...talk about something you can talk about in a way that interests your audience...
- Don't share personal information - I know most of us know each other in real life, but some of our members (and as this site grows, more members who don't know us will join) don't know us...it's best not to reveal our addresses and shit like that...first names are fine, as well as general location...
