What makes one? How do you determine what type of gamer one can be? If you’re a girl, do you have to be remotely good to be dubbed a “gamergirl” or are you officially one if you play tetris at school? Do girls prefer gamers or do guys prefer gamergirls? What are some (odd) skills outside of gaming that helps you when you game? (example: piano… Since I try various pieces, from Romantic to Jazz, I have an open mind as to what games I want to try… plus my fingers move pretty damn fast if I get competitive LOL) Talk about it here. (Note: I’m doing this because Rui and I had a discussion and she says that she doesn’t really see herself as one, as the reason she started playing certain games was because of the art. LOL RUI. Plus I’m curious as to what everybody’s opinion is.)

Hmmm... Rui's an odd category. I think aoll she needs is more games like Disgaea and she'll be set into the category.

Gamer/Gamegirl is made by more than one of the following: 1: Playing games, even though they have 'better' or 'more important' things to do. 2: Playing every single game you can get your hands on, even if you think it's awful. (Note: No one does this. No matter how hardcore.) 3, a: Buying games before they come out in your country, via importing. 3, b: Buying systems to go with said games. 4: Memorizing everything about a specific game. For instance, you are shown a single frame of a specific game. You can tell me (within reason) what happened five minutes before and five minutes after. Within reason means: Excluding random events that the player cannot control. 5: Thinks about games more than sex. This is only if the person is ABOVE age... I'll go 16. ENJOY! And, if you think of others, add on. <3

playing tetris at school =/= gamer playing tetris at home, on weekends, impatiently awaiting tetris 2's release = gamer going to tetris forums, participating in tetris tourneys = competitive (or hardcore if you still use that term) gamer
