This board is obviously used to get your play-style and skill rated by your peers. There are a few guidelines I'd like to give for both posting vids and for rating them.
Getting Reviewed:
Tips for Reviewers:
I'll leave it at that. Unless otherwise stated, none of these guidelines are rules. But following them will make your experience in this forum a lot more beneficial.
Getting Reviewed:
- Don't be arrogant. If you're posting here, chances are you know you need to improve, but on the off-chance you do think you're a Smash god, don't. Because you're not, and acting like you are will serve no purpose other than to get your fellow members to flame you and get you a warning.
- Post multiple videos if possible. You know the old saying, the more the merrier. The more videos you provide us with, the better we can rate you.
- If you have multiple characters, try to keep them organized and separate.
- Take in what people say. Your peers aren't all going to praise everything you do. If they tell you something you can do to improve, listen. If someone tries to tell you that you suck and that you should never play Melee again, report them.
Tips for Reviewers:
- Be polite. That isn't too much of a challenge. Tell the player you just watched ways to improve, and remind them of what they're doing right.
- Make sure that if you post, you ACTUALLY post a real review. If you post something other than a critique, it will qualify as spam.
- Make sure you know enough about the character(s) in question before reviewing. Don't mouth off a bunch of random BS trying to help someone who uses a character you know jack-squat about.
I'll leave it at that. Unless otherwise stated, none of these guidelines are rules. But following them will make your experience in this forum a lot more beneficial.
