It's been a few months since we started, and it's time to update the rules. So without further ado, here are the new rules for this site.
[glow=red,2,300]1)[/glow] This is a Melee-oriented forum. That being said, any blatant negative statements towards the game (i.e. "Melee sucks Brawl is waaaaaaay better") will result in a ban. That isn't to say that liking Brawl will result in a ban, of course. You are more than welcome to like both games, or even neither (as long as you don't senselessly bash Melee). All we ask is that you remain polite towards Melee.
[glow=red,2,300]2)[/glow] Unless you're posting in the Spam Room, don't spam, simple as that. Now, you may be wondering, "is this spam? What is considered Spam?" To answer this question, here is a list of things considered Spam:
If you're unsure as to whether or not something will be considered spam, simply add a bit to it.
[glow=red,2,300]3)[/glow] Respect your fellow members and staff. This is a simple matter of courtesy. Don't senselessly bash another member. There are bound to be newer players here. If they ask a question you consider to be stupid, don't call them out on it, just answer them and help them. As for staff, just be courteous and listen to what they tell you to do. If you think a staff member is being unfair and abusing their power, PM an admin about it.
Also, if someone is flaming you or someone else, report it. Don't start a flamewar.
[glow=red,2,300]4)[/glow] Use cursewords sparingly. We don't have a censoring system here, but over-using cursewords is not only rude, but doesn't make you look intelligent.
[glow=red,2,300]5)[/glow] No blatant advertising. This includes making posts and threads simply to advertise. If you slip in a reference to another site, but are completely on-topic, you're fine. Also, you are more than welcome to advertise a site in your sig. Any blatant ad-bots will be banned on sight. If you see one (or anyone advertising), report it to the staff, and don't respond.
[glow=red,2,300]6)[/glow] No pornography or inappropriate content. Posting anything inappropriate will get you a warning unless there's nudity, in which case, a ban will be issued. Simple as that. If you're unclear as to whether or not something's appropriate, PM a staff member.
The general rule for punishment is that unless stated otherwise, the punishment will be a warning. Depending on the situation and staff member, a verbal warning may be issued with no infraction points given.
Abiding by these rules will grant you a safe and enjoyable experience here on H4x0RZ. If you feel that a rule should be added, removed, or changed, PM an admin. Please provide a good reason for your request, or it will be ignored.
Thank you and enjoy yourself ^^;

- One-line posts that don't contribute (i.e. "lol" with nothing behind it. A general rule of thumb is that if it's less than ten characters, it's generally going to be spam)
- Anything that is offtopic (that's NOT to say that a little digression will result in Spam infractions. Unlike Smashboards, we aren't Spam-Nazis. Just make sure it gets back on topic, and if a staff member tells you to get back on topic, do it).
- Anything obvious (i.e. typing random letters, intentional abuse of lol-speak/1337-speak, etc.)
- Replying to a spam thread outside of the spam room.
